1,4-DIOXANE NOT MENTIONED IN SKIN CARE PRODUCT LABELS

Recent reports reveal that the traces of toxic substance 1,4-Dioxane were found in the water supply system of Long Island, New York, and that this issue is being sidelined by the interest groups.
Citing Dr. Anne Marie Fine, of IMFINE Skin enterprise, a report in Cosmetics design elaborates: there are two main reasons why the substance (1,4-Dioxane) is a potential threat to the consumers.  Firstly, this substance is a contaminant and byproduct of a chemical process called ethoxylation which is not listed in the label of the product, and the consumers are not aware of the potential health risk involved. Secondly, as a likely human carcinogen (the State of California has confirmed it), its presence constitutes disregard for the personal health and safety of the consumers.
Among the products which contain this toxic substance are shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, facial formulations, including moisturizers, and even bubble baths to which babies are exposed to.
Promoting the cause of public health and safety, HerballyRadiant has been raising the awareness among consumers about the potential health risks from harsh chemical ingredients in cosmetics, and has been advocating exclusion of such substances.  For the same reason, the companies should be obligated to clearly state them on the labels the contents so that consumers can make informed choice.
